Astro-Nought
Position Type: Part time, 10-15 hours/week
Salary: $35-$50/hour
Deadline: September 30, 2025
How to apply: Send resume/CV to bob@astro-nought.com

Astro-Nought seeks a Spanish-speaking, RMA-savvy recycling rules expert with Master Recycler certification, sorting facility, or other experience.

Astro-Nought is an app-based digital recycling assistant, currently under development, which provides recycling instructions specific to individual products in multiple languages. Using the natural name for packaging components is essential—and tricky. English terms like envelope, packet, pouch, bag, and wrapper can blur into each other.

Products come in a vast array of packaging types, and their Spanish names must sound natural to Spanish users of Astro-Nought (aka “Astro-Nada”). The position also involves curating the Astro-Nought database so it contains products made for Spanish speakers. Knowledge of relational databases and experience with JSON or SQL is helpful but not required.

Astro-Nought rejects the dismantlement of DEI programs in the United States and aspires to a zero-waste, zero-contamination, zero-hate future.
